The Godmother Rocks!

Drum roll!… This is my Godmother & aunt’s debut on Charity Chic!

While down in Pembrokshire this week, we passed through the county town of Pembroke. Not missing an opportunity for a charity shop rummage, we hit the small High Street eager for a bargain. I came away empty-handed but my Auntie Julia came up trumps with a funky Desigual skirt.

Before I crack on, I am pleased to report that all of the charity shops we hit in Pembroke had a thoroughly acceptable odour which confirms that Cardigan does indeed win the award for The Town With The Smelliest Charity Shops In Wales. Anyway…

The typically bold and colourful Desigual skirt Julia is wearing came from the Tenovus charity shop for £3.99. I had not heard of them before this trip to Wales but they offer support, advice and treatment for cancer patients, information on cancer prevention and funding for research to improve the outcomes for people with cancer. A cause very close to my and I’m sure many Charity Chic readers hearts.

It’s a mish-mash of colours with a random print throughout and it suits Julia’s eclectic-cool and creative personality. I love that my family are fellow thrifty geeks like me! Perhaps it’s a genetic condition?

These pictures were taken at the Druidstone Hotel where we had lunch in the pretty garden. It’s a grand old shabby chic hotel near Newgale with breathtaking views over the bay.
